Miniature Potbellied Pigs are descendants of the “I” breed of pigs from the Red River delta area of Vietnam and the “Mong Cai” pigs of northern Vietnam near the China border. Collectively these two breeds are referred to as Vietnamese Potbellied Pigs. The Vietnamese Potbellied Pigs are primarily black with some having white markings. They have wrinkled skin, small erect ears, dished faces, and weight around 150-200lbs. The usual color is all black. Other rare colors include all white (pink) or black and white pintos with blue eyes. Miniature Pigs have a sway back and a straight tail. Male pigs are called boars. Female pigs are called sows. We are very proud of the daily handling and care given to our miniatures. We provide proper nutrition and quality veterinary care to all of our animals. Our livestock is current on vaccinations, dental checkups, hoof care, and worming. The health of our animals is very important to us, and we follow rather strict practices. We maintain a closed herd, which means we do not bring in any new animals, embryos or semen. Once an animal is sold, it may not be returned. So that we do not unintentionally introduce disease into our herds, we do not bring our animals to shows, and we do not borrow or lend animals for breeding. We prefer weanlings do not leave Conners Farm before they are 6 months of age.
They need time to grow and play with other weanlings, receive discipline from their mothers, and time to change their diet gradually to eliminate the desire for mother’s milk. This also enables Conners Farm time to handle and bottle feed the babies. All miniatures come with Conners Farm health papers showing up to date vaccinations, deworming schedule, and hoof trimming schedule. If you need transportation, we can arrange ground transport within the US and Canada. To other countries, we can arrange air transportation on major airlines.

There is a lot of information circling around about what a miniature pig is, or isn’t. Some people are adamant that there is no such thing; others claim there are extremely tiny swine that are the size of a teacup. These are exaggerations or claims by people who have a misunderstanding. All terms like micro, micro-mini, dandy, pixie and teacup are just descriptive marketing of miniature pigs. There are true miniature pigs, but there are even more terms out there to describe them.
